We pay attention to the safety of our products and we try to improve our quality every day, through the careful selection of raw materials, moreover, we monitor continuously the processing of our products.

Our partners also apply rigorous standards for food safety. Among the certifications stand out:

HACCP certification, Hazard analysis and critical control points, a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production.

Friend of the sea, the certification and promotion of seafood from sustainable fisheries and sustainable aquaculture;

IFS, this certification ensures that the company manufactures the products in compliance with international quality and safety standards.

Responsible fishing.

We glean our raw materials from the fishing areas in bold. We only catch adult Yellowfin tunas over 20kg using purse seine nets. This fishing method has a littler impact on the ecosystem and it allows a more selective fish, reducing the risk of catching other species.

ATLANTIC OCEAN: Zona FAO 21, 31, 34, 41, 47.
INDIAN OCEAN: Zona FAO 51.

The fishing Ocean.

We take care about the food security topics and we choose carefully our fishing seas. We writes in our packs all the information concerning the fishing area. We mostly fish our Yellowfin tuna in Fao zone 41-47; the Alletteratus tuna “Tonnetto” in Fao zone 37 in the Mediterranean sea.

The fished species.

We have always diversified the fished tuna species in order to safeguard the marine ecosystem. We only fish adult tunas over 20kg.

The manufacturing in the fishing areas.

In order to guarantee the best products we manufacture by hand our tuna directly in the fishing area. We produce the Yellowfin tuna, which is a specie caught in the Ocean, in our plant in Portugal; while the Mediterranean tuna in our Sicilian factory.

All our products are Friend of the Sea certified.

The FRIEND OF THE SEA project has the mission of promoting sustainable aquaculture and fishing products. According to the FAO Guidelines, Friend of the Sea has defined highly-selective certification criteria.

The checks required by FRIEND OF THE SEA are carried out by independent international certification entities, such as Bureau Veritas and SGS.

Only products originating from fishing zones that are not over-exploited can be FRIEND OF THE SEA certified; products for which the raw material was selectively fished with no impact on the sea bed.
